Send a quote

What you'll do

Build a quote on a deal from line items, print it or save it as a PDF to send, and keep track of whether it was accepted.

Steps

Make a quote

  1. Open the deal.
  2. Under Quotes, select + New quote. The quote is numbered from the deal, so the first quote on DL-12 is DL-12-Q1.
  3. For each item, type a Description, a Quantity and a Unit price. Select + Add line for another line. The Total adds up as you type.
  4. Set Valid until if the offer ends on a date, and add any terms or payment details in Notes.
  5. Select Save.

Send it

  1. Open the quote from the deal's Quotes list.
  2. Select Print or save as PDF. In the print window, print it, or choose Save as PDF and attach the file to your own email.
  3. Set Status to Sent and select Save. If the deal has no next step, the app adds "Follow up on quote" as its next step, due three business days later.

Record the answer

  1. Open the quote and set Status to Accepted or Declined, then select Save.
  2. To make the deal's value match the quote, select Use total as deal value.

Tips

  • Nothing is emailed or signed from the app. You send the quote yourself, so it goes out from your own mailbox.
  • A quote holds up to 50 lines.
  • Quotes start switched off. An administrator turns on Quotes under Settings, Administration before the Quotes section appears on a deal.
  • If a deal says to run the provisioning update to use quotes, ask your administrator.
  • With the Viewer role you can open and print a quote but not change it.
